Correspondence with the War Department, 1893-1896.

Mrs. Bolling wrote to the War Dept. (Feb. 7, 1893) to ask where her son, William Clay, was stationed. The first response from the Adjutant General's Office (Feb. 13, 1893) informed her that 1st Sergeant William Clay, Troop "E", 9th Cavalry, was stationed at Fort Robinson, Nebraska. A later update (Jun. 19, 1896) notified her of her son's move from Troop "E" to the Band, also at Fort Robinson.
